Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CmdHub website, hosted API, dashboard, sandbox, and AI copilot (together, the "Service"), operated by CmdHub ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The open-source cmdh command-line client and its source code are licensed separately under the MIT License; these Terms govern the hosted Service, not your use of the open-source client.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of the Service

CmdHub provides a registry of command-line tools with machine-readable contracts ("ACI"), a hybrid local/cloud search index, a hosted API, a developer dashboard, an optional sandboxed analysis environment, and an AI assistant. Much of the registry data is generated or inferred by automated tooling and large language models and is progressively verified by probing real tool output. Registry data may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, and is provided for reference only. See the disclaimers in Sections 9–10.

3. Accounts and API Keys

You may sign in using a third-party provider (e.g., GitHub or Google). You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and API keys (ch_live_…) confidential. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend keys or accounts that we reasonably believe are compromised or abused.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
• distribute malware, or use the sandbox or API to attack, probe, or disrupt any system you are not authorized to test;
• attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, authentication, or billing;
• scrape, resell, or redistribute the hosted registry data in bulk except as expressly permitted (the offline database is distributed for use with the cmdh client);
• interfere with or place an undue burden on our infrastructure; or
• submit content (e.g., published tool entries) that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, or malicious.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate access for violations.

5. Billing and Payments

Paid features use a pre-paid wallet and pay-as-you-go pricing. Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record and handles payment processing, sales tax/VAT, and invoicing. By purchasing credits you also agree to Paddle's buyer terms. Prices and metering (e.g., per-search or per- download charges) are described at the point of purchase and may change prospectively. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Beta Service

Parts of the Service may be offered as a beta or free preview. Beta features are provided without warranty, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and may have limited availability. Do not rely on the Service for production-critical workflows without your own validation.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the website, branding, and hosted software (excluding the MIT-licensed cmdh client and other separately-licensed open-source components), is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service per these Terms. You retain ownership of content you submit, and grant us a license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating the Service.

8. Third-Party Tools and Links

The registry references third-party command-line tools and external resources. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party software, its licenses, or its behavior. Installing and running any tool is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer — Registry Data and Command Execution

THE SERVICE AND ALL REGISTRY DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Commands, flags, install instructions, and risk levels may be wrong. You are solely responsible for reviewing any command before executing it, whether you run it yourself or via an AI agent. We are not responsible for any outcome of executing commands sourced from the registry, including data loss or system damage.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 7, 9, 10, 11) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, by notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the CmdHub operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
